Elizabeth Pickett Gray has 35 years in hair and makeup, starting when she opened her first salon with her sister in an old barbershop in Tallahassee, Florida. Six months later, “the old barbershop” was one of the hottest salons in Florida. After opening two other salons in Sarasota, producing fashion shows, platform work, and teaching in 1985, she moved to Los Angeles to work in the film industry.

Becoming one of the most sought-after hairstylists and makeup artists in print, commercials, MTV music videos, and feature films in 1995, she left Los Angeles. She relocated to Martha’s Vineyard to raise her children in a cleaner environment. Elizabeth opened the Pickett House B&B and the Barn Salon & Spa in Chilmark, Massachusetts, while also traveling to locations for the Film industry as a makeup artist and hairstylist.

The children are grown years later, and Elizabeth is back in Florida.

You can find her cutting hair at Salon Forty-One on Main Street in Sarasota or working in her"tiny little office" volunteering for The Florida Environmental Film Festival. She enjoys staying active with hiking, biking, kayaking, traveling and photography.
